“We had a pretty good weekend,” said Knight. “Worked our way up to finish fifth on Friday night at Lavonia and backed that up with a third-place run on Saturday at Laurens. We will take it and keep trying to improve a few more spots. Thanks to all of our great sponsors and everyone who supports this team.”
Cla Knight was one of 23 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series entries on hand at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway on Friday night for the Buck Simmons Memorial. With time trials setting the grid for the $6,000-to-win A-Main, Knight laid down the tenth fastest time overall. Breaking into the Top-5, Cla marched forward five spots to place fifth behind Brandon Overton, Brent Dixon, Trent Ivey, and Brent Hamm.
On Saturday night at Laurens County Speedway (Laurens, S.C.) for the Ultimate Southeast Series-sanctioned Ronnie Brookshire Memorial, Cla locked his spot into the main event with the second fastest lap in his qualifying group behind Brandon Overton. With $4,014 on the line, Knight held his spot for all 40 laps to register a third place finish behind Brandon Overton and Zack Mitchell with Anthony Sanders and Adam Yarbrough rounding out the Top-5.
