Cla Knight wheels to fourth-place finish in Scorcher at Bulls Gap
Wednesday saw Cla Knight return to action at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) aboard his M&W Transport No. 42 Late Model for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series-sanctioned Scorcher. (Michael Moats photo)
Drawing 33 Late Models, Knight laid down the fifth-fastest time in his qualifying group before placing fourth in his heat race. Earning the 14th-starting position for the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Cla advanced through the field 10 spots in the 50-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Cory Hedgecock, Michael Chilton, and Scott Bloomquist to the checkers with Dale McDowell coming in fifth.
